Care of George St School

We remind all children in the George Street School classrooms to take great care not to touch or tamper with any of the school’s classroom equipment. It is a privilege to have the use of this school, and we show our gratitude by our carefulness. The library is out of bounds to us, but parents can use the upstairs lower area for waiting. Also, drivers of cars in the school grounds should keep under 10 kph for the safety of pedestrians who take priority. Toilets are along the ground floor of the main block facing the street.

Care of Instruments

We encourage all children with hired instruments to follow the instructions that outline their care. Each instrument has its own specific requirements and tutors will teach these, but general guidelines for all instruments would include such things as:

  • Keep protected from sun, heaters or fireplaces.
  • Keep out of reach of inquisitive siblings and friends.
  • Keep in a safe place if needed at school, e.g. for orchestra.

If you have any queries regarding hired instruments, please see Kate Grace in Room 6 at the end of the Junior block, or email: kate@theinstrumentroom.com. If you have any queries regarding payment, please check with someone in our “office” which is a downstairs room (labelled Room 8) facing the carpark.

All other queries to:

Stephanie Hobbs, Co-ordinator (smmc.gsns@outlook.com) or Aart Brusse, Musical Director (smmcotago@outlook.com)
